Instructions on using Internet Options on MSIE
These instructions are things that I do as part of my SHUTDOWN procedure.
With your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser
( MSIE )
open, you need to click "Tools".
When you select Tools on the
MSIE
browser, a dropdown menu will appear....
Select "Internet Options...."
After you select "Internet Options ....", a pop-up window will appear that looks like the image below.
Be sure that the "General" Tab is selected.
We will start with the 3 options in the middle section titled
"Temporary Internet files".
Select the 1st box titled: "Delete Cookies ..." in the "Temporary Internet files" section.
When you select "Delete Cookies..." another box will appear as seem above.
Click "ok" on the Delete Cookies pop-up box.
This time you need to select "Delete Files ..."
and another pop-up box will appear as seen below.
You MUST check the box Delete all offline content.
Click "ok" on the Delete Files pop-up box.
The 3rd option in the Temporary Internet files is the "Settings ..."
You may chose Not to change your default settings but if you do, you will only need to do this one time.
See the image below.
I set mine to "Check for newer version of stored pages:
Every visit to the page."
If you do not do this, you may be seeing the webpage as it was the last time you visited instead of an updated version.
The LAST thing that I do is to clear the History.
Click "Clear History" in the History section...
This may take a couple of minutes if you have visited many websites or have not done it for a long time.
See the image below.
Click "yes" for
"Are you sure you want Windows to delete your history of visited Web sites?"
You are all done.
